‘Marvel Crisis Protocol: Alliances’ Announced By AMG
Atomic Mass Games dropped a new way for players to get hooked into the world of Marvel Crisis Protocol with a new co-op boardgame-like called Marvel Crisis Protocol: Alliances.
Marvel Crisis Protocol: Alliances - Night of the Goblin pits the mighty Web Warriors against the Green Goblin and his hordes of minions and grunts. Players will take on the roles of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Spider-Man/Miles Morales, Ghost Spider/Gwen Stacey, and the Black Cat as they battle it out in a series of linked adventures that are played out on a hexagon board. Each character will have their own dashboard with abilities that level up as the game goes on. The announcement video mentions being able to mix-and-match your four heroes that you play through the game with, including the likes of Wolverine, Cyclops, Hawkeye, and Captain America.
The announcement concluded with a tease of the follow up to Night of the Goblin - Marvel Crisis Protocol: Alliances - Attack of the Sentinels.
From a hobby standpoint, the game’s miniature are a part of Atomic Mass Games’ new F.A.S.T. assembly system. This seems to be an in-house way of simply saying they are push-fit models requiring no glue in the assembly process. Additionally, the models look like they are colored plastic. Rather this means the heroes are one color and the villains are another is yet to be seen as they only showed off the sprue for the Spider-Man/Peter Parker model.
The models are also cross-compatible with Atomic Mass Games’ flagship title, Marvel Crisis Protocol. All four of the hero models and the new Green Goblin model can be used in the miniature game, though we are unaware at the moment if these are just alternate sculpts or if brand-new Stat cards will be included. Personally, the addition of a new Black Cat model is a welcome inclusion regardless of if she is has new stats or not.
At the moment, all other details are pretty scarce regarding this new era of Marvel Crisis Protocol, including release date and price. Hopefully we’ll hear more in the coming weeks, especially with AdepticCon and GAMA right around the corner. With its compatibility with the main game proper, we are hoping it’ll have a lower price to hopefully act as a gateway for onboarding new players.
