Descend Into ‘Armageddon’ With New ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Edition
Adepticon 2026 is in full swing and Games Workshop has announced the newest eiditon of their flagship title Warhammer 40,000.
The newest edition’s launch box, Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, is being boasted as the “biggest Warhammer 40,000 launch set yet”. It will give players a great jumping on point to the war going on on the surface of Armageddon as the Space Marines and Orks come to blow. While we don’t know the full inclusion of models, but they showed off a new Intercessor Squad (featuring a combination of modern aspects with classic details) and Ork Boyz (carrying choppas, sluggas, and a shoot into battle).
Along with the new models of the edition, the launch box heralds new rule changes:
Codex and faction rules of the current edition will still be valid going into the edition.
70 brand new and updated Detachements will be added to help players bring their army’s vision to the table top.
Detachments will now affect missions.
Objectives are tossing out the circles for terrain footprints.
Terrain rules will be getting a massive shakeup.
Various combat changes for faster and more consolidated game play.
