Kickstarter Watch: ‘Sword Art Online Alicization’ From Japanime Games
After much anticipation, Japanime Games have launch the lated Japanime Tactics product - Sword Art Online Alicization.
Fully compatible with all past and future Japanime Tactic titles, Japanime Tactics: Sword Art Online Alicization takes players into the world of Sword Art Online like never before. Based on the Alicization arc, players will take on the role of characters like Kirito, Asuna, Alice, Eugeo, and more in a games of epic combat. Using a combination of acrylic standees, action cards, and modular terrain, the game plays out over various scenarios allowing players to relive the action of the battles in the Underworld.
The base game of Sword Art Online Alicization includes everything players need for 2v2 battles, including:
4 acrylic standees of Kirito, Asuna, Alice, and Eugeo
8 rubber standee bases (4 each of 2 colors)
33 cards
4 punchboard statues
4 punchboard hills
6 tiles
2 Victory Point tracker dials
58 tokens
Additionally, Japanime Games is offering three expansions to bring even more characters to the table top. Additional characters add to team variety, as well as allowing for up to four-play games. Each expansions includes the acrylic standees and cards for their respective characters. The expansions are:
Masters and Students: Leafa, Sinon, Sortiliena Serlut, and Volo Levantein
Integrity Knights: Eldrie, Fanatio, Bercouli, and Deusolbert
Axiom Church: Quinella, Cardinal, Sword Golem, and Chudelkin
Lastly, while there are no stretch goals planned for the Kickstarter, there are four promo character packs planned for the set. These will bring the total number of playable characters, with the base game and expansions, to 20. They are:

Currently there are three pledges avaliable. The “Newb” pledge includes the base game and a set of four foil promo cards for $50. The “Pro Gamer” pledge includes the base game, all three expansions, four foil promo cards, two sets of 60-count card sleeves (120 total), and a pack of clear card sleeves (60 total) for $125. Finally, brink-and-mortar stores can purchase the “Retailer” pledge that includes two base games and an organized play kit that includes the four promo cards and the four promo character packs for $50.
As of the time of this writing, the game is already funded and still has 15 days to go.
